Looking for an antique mailbox?  An antique mailbox will add a touch of class and distinction to your home.  Not many people these days have an antique mailbox and if you place it out on a post on the front of your property, it will be a definite eye catcher for any passer-by.  So if you’re wondering where to pick one up from, your best bet is to search for them online.  While you can find them in some specialty stores, it will be a lot harder than just searching through the Internet.

One of the better places to find them is on Amazon, the following mailboxes were all found there and are some that you may want to consider picking up:

1.  Peninsula Mailbox

This mailbox is a unique, distressed green color, it is square shaped and has a wave to it, a rounded ramp on the top of the box, almost like a little hill.  On the front of the box, there is a wavy lined design engraved as well which adds to it’s antique look.  This mailbox has a thin slot at the top where mail can be inserted and most of the base is taken up by a door which can be unlocked to retrieve your mail.

This mailbox is big enough for small packages and the opening opens and closes quite easily and securely.  This has an average rating of 4.5/5 stars by 6 customers and comes in at $170.25.

2.  Decorative Standard Horizontal Mailbox – Antique Brass

Here’s a mailbox that is made to be wall mounted.  It has the typical mailbox shape, it looks like a cross section of a house, where the slanted roof is the top cover of the mailbox.  This one also has a pattern on it which is a set of 3 3x3 square holes set side by side in the center of the mailbox.

It has a great aged bronze color to it, is easy to install, is well made and sturdy.  The only complaint if there is one is that there are no matching newspaper hooks for this.  Other than that, this is a great mission style brass mailbox.

3.  Architectural Mailboxes Coronado Mailboxes with Antique Copper Accents

Here’s a classic mailbox for you to look into.  It’s shaped like a “barn”, the type of mailbox that fits atop a post.  It has a brass lining around the opening of the mailbox and it has a brass knob there to open the door as well.  Finally, it has a flag on the side.  The black mailbox coupled with the copper accents make it look quite elegant and distinguished, like a real antique mailbox.  This has had 6 ratings of 5/5 so it is a definite winner amongst buyers.  You can get it for $180.

So if you’re looking for an antique mailbox, those are 3 you’ll want to look into further, there are plenty more out there though, you’ll find them with a little extra searching.
